Brief description of the plants:
Turmeric and black pepper belong to different botanical families and offer a fascinating combination of tropical root power and aromatic fruit richness. Turmeric (Family: Zingiberaceae) is a perennial, rhizome-forming plant with lanceolate leaves and bright yellow roots, native to South and Southeast Asia. It thrives in warm, humid regions and develops underground storage organs that have been prized for centuries. Black pepper (Family: Piperaceae), on the other hand, is a climbing vine with heart-shaped leaves and grape-like fruit clusters, whose unripe fruits, when dried, are known as peppercorns. Originally from India, it is now cultivated in many tropical regions. Both plants share their tropical origins but differ significantly in growth habit and use—rhizome and fruit complement each other to form a distinctive combination.

Special Features:
Pepper was so valuable in the Middle Ages that it was occasionally used as currency—so-called “pepper rents” were even accepted as part of trade contracts. Turmeric contains natural pigments so intense that they have been used for centuries as a dye for textiles and in rituals—in some regions, turmeric was even considered “sacred yellow” because it permanently colors fabrics and barely fades even after many washes.

History and traditional significance of the two plants

Turmeric and black pepper have a long history in traditional botany and the spice trade. Turmeric has been used in South and Southeast Asia for centuries as a dye and spice plant and played an important role in rituals and everyday applications across various cultures. For centuries, black pepper was considered one of the most sought-after commodities and shaped trade routes between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Both plants symbolize cultural diversity, global distribution, and a long-standing tradition of use that continues to this day.

Why use Curcuma-Forte as an alcoholic tincture?

The tincture concentrates soluble plant compounds and makes them available for longer. Alcohol serves as an extractant and preservative and has the major advantage of extracting water- and fat-soluble ingredients from the plant. These, in turn, are absorbed quickly and directly through the mucous membranes—ideal even in cases of limited absorption. An alcohol-free version often cannot extract this range of substances in the same way.

Product Information: Ingredients of the Tincture

Organic alcohol (80% vol.)
Alpine spring water
Alcoholic extract from organic turmeric root and organic black pepper.
Aqueous mineral extract obtained after calcination of the plant components used in Bio-Curcuma-Forte.

After adding the plant minerals (=mineral extract) to the alcohol extract, the alcohol content of the finished tincture is reduced to 65% vol.

Curcuma-Forte Tincture: Usage & Dosage

Take 30 drops twice daily, diluted with a little water (150 ml)
OR mix the entire daily dose of 60 drops in approx. 500 ml of water and drink throughout the day
100 ml contains approximately 2200 drops.

Tip: Let the drops sit in your mouth for a few moments before swallowing.

The recommended daily intake (60 drops) contains an alcoholic extract of approx. 550 mg of organic turmeric root and 85 mg of organic black pepper, plus mineral extract after calcination.
